Though it might sound counterintuitive, filling a small space with functional furniture can make it seem larger. Be thoughtful in your furniture placement and design a floor plan that works for you to make the space feel intimate. 

Opt for a Light, Neutral Wall Color

Creating an airy feel in a cramped space can be easy as painting the walls a light, neutral color. And if you’re going the gender-neutral route, try a silvery shade of grey. 

Be Smart About Storage

Creativity is key when designing a small nursery , so rethink the layout. Can a closet double as a changing space and storage area? Can you stash supplies in an ottoman? Think about how items and spaces can work double duty.
